I was talking to a buddy who introduced me to shooting I'd say about 8+ years back. I asked him how much he paid for ammo that day and he said the box of 100 .45 was about 22.00 and a box of 20 .223 rounds was between 3.00 and 5.00 hahahaah, I didnt own any guns back then but jeepers, talk about a difference. .223 went from 3.00 for 20 to 10.00. .45 ammo, forget about it.
I figure I'll buy what I need to replace....if I shoot 50 in a day I wont go shooting until I buy 50. Just wait for this craziness to calm down. I would be pissed if I stocked up on ammo at a higher rate then in a year or so it dropped in price.
