I finally got a chance today to take pics of my [SA] stamped M38 in 7.35mm. Nothing too special, but it seems in good condition. The bore appeared somewhat dark and frosted, but a brush a patch cleaned it up to acceptable standards.
Non-import marked. The beech stock appears to be from another gun, as the scrubbed numbers don't match. Two piece cleaning rod (I thought this model had a three piece?).
1939 RE TERNI
I know that these were purchased from Italy after the Winter War, and weren't very popular in Finland. But it does show evidence of use from the bore, bolt and wear. I was wondering if these also saw the same pattern of refurbishment as the Finn marked Mosins, as well? My stock is certainly not the original, but it does look like an arsenal scrub and fit. Also, it retains the "oil only" finish.
Thanks for looking.
