Check out the interview of Kayla Giles who got her PLATINUM(c) USCCA coverage dropped when she used her gun in self-defense against her ex:

Clears up a lot of points that were ambiguous from previous media coverage and USCCA statements. I'm glad I never wasted my money on any of their insurance products.

Most of the anti-USCCA/self defense insurance videos on YouTube are sponsored by attorney retainer companies. Like the OPs video isn’t just sponsored by a competitor, IT IS LITERALLY PRODUCED BY A COMPETITOR.

Coverage with USCCA or CCW Safe isn’t guaranteed, of course not. But Kayla Giles is a pretty bad example to tie your horse to. She bought the pistol, got the insurance, and googled if it was self defense to shoot someone from your car days before shooting her soon to be ex. Her daughter never saw her father lunge or make any threatening movements. She deleted incriminating data from her phone/laptop before the shooting. No, I wouldn’t cover her for self defense either.

It’s not perfect, as they can’t cover illegal acts. That sucks if you end up being found guilty. But hey, you have bigger worries then. And in instances with pretty clear wrongdoing they can drop you, like with Kayla. She was shady as hell.

BUT, they have helped people and it’s not a scam. It’s just insurance and insurance doesn’t always pay out. They still help lots of people though.

Stop using logic. Not allowed here.

They have to cover some cases and can't deny all of them for public view or maybe advertisement. I used to have USCCA, they have good training videos, however, I chose to terminate my subscription for various reasons, one being their discretion in determining whether to cover expenses.

I knew it was a scam when I looked at their concealed carry map and they blatantly got several laws wrong in multiple different states. They either hire scrappy attorneys or no attorneys to draft their literature.
I agree with you. Believe it or not, when I was a member with them, I called and notified them, and they promised to fix it ASAP. But nothing happened.

Insurance companies always have been scam artists, and they always will be.

Insurance companies are like casinos. You are betting them (with your premiums) that you will eventually have a claim that will pay out and they are betting that you won't (and they get to keep the premiums). The coverage you get and the premiums you pay are all carefully determined by statistics and probability, with the "odds" in favor of the insurance company. If and when you do file a claim they will likely try to deny it. That way they can maximize their profits by keeping your premium and denying your payout.

and from what I understand since shooting somebody even in self-defense is illegal in Massachusetts, and many other states
they won’t be any help

At least that’s what I’ve read about their policy

And they have the benefit of every Karen in America demanding the government to force you to buy it....

Vehicle insurance, health insurance, liability insurance, etc. I'll take my chances insurance free.

That is false on both counts.

Wait, are you serious?

He's in Fairbanks. He's not going to hit your car. Relax. Caribou maybe, but not your car.

Besides. He HAS health insurance. It's paid for by you. It's called Medicaid. So if he gets some debilitating life-threatening condition, they WON'T chuck him out on the street with no insurance or resources. Hell, he could even have resources (just not income). The state of Alaska, via grants by the Federales, will pay for his care. Basically YOU pay for his care. What a great world we live in.

There are days when I think reinstitution Debtors Prison might be a good thing. ;)

Exactly.
In the case of these self defense insurance companies, they can subjectively decide if they will cover you.

If you live in Massachusetts, you don't need insurance. You are going to jail. Save your money for Attorneys. I wonder if they allow conjugal visits. She has that crazy hairdresser hot look.....

That is an exaggeration. Is the deck stacked against you in MA? Yes. But there have been people in MA who have used a firearm in self defense and who were not prosecuted, let alone convicted.

Curious to see how many Mass residents were protected by USCCA Insurance.

The way I see it when you consider the cost of guns and gun ownership in general, the insurance (or actually pre-paid attorney) is a drop in the bucket.

Does it always work? No.......... But I have guns that don't always work either that cost me a lot more than my CCW Safe.

Their reciprocity map indicates that MA is "Castle Doctrine". I spoke with them about that maybe a year ago, but they did nothing. It is messed up.

What is your argument with what they wrote? That is the traditional meaning of Castle Doctrine. In MA there is no duty to retreat when inside your home. There is a duty to retreat outside your home (if it is safe to do so). Some states have so-called Make My Day laws -- whereby you can assume that anyone inside your home without permission is there to do you harm. In contrast, MA has a more traditional Castle Doctrine, whereby you can only use deadly force if you, or another innocent, is in immediate danger of death or grave bodily injury.

MA is not a stand your ground state.

You are right, it seems they correct it. My bad. I removed
:D
