Econmical cold weather blankets

Just got my kid an Italian army blanket from here:

The thing is nice, heavy (5 pounds!) Has a mothball smell, but most of it's gone with febreze and airing.

Kid approved, too.

They seem to hover around 30 to 50 $ for real wool, or some high percentage of wool for a blanket for one person. Anything less than that and you're talking some emergency blanket that's made for a few applications or some cheap POS that isn't real wool anyways. I've read some bad things about Rothco, mostly on Amazon responses to their products.
