I just saw in the paper today that tonight at 7:00 The Freetown Historical Society at 1 Slab Bridge Rd Freetown Mass. will offer the program "Early Iron Works of the South Coast area and their impact on Local Industry," featuring Davis Gun Works of Assonet".
Visitors are invited to bring their unloaded antique weapons for show and tell.

sounds interesting.

Don't know if this is old enough to be called 'early' but was made Assonet and it sure is ugly:

Without having to dig into any archives, what is that iron?

If you're referring to the pics, it's a Davis-Warner Infallible in .32acp, made in Assonet about 1915 or so.

Their trademark of 'blocks the sear' is stamped on the grip. BTW, the left grip is brown plastic, the right grip is brown painted cast brass ?!?!?!

I haven't shot it because I can't figure out how it works!
