Idaho inmate escapes during ‘coordinated’ shooting attack on officers at hospital; 3 injured

But check out this masterpiece of doublespeak:

A third IDOC officer was injured after Boise police responded and fired at an armed individual near the hospital entrance.

It's not double speak, it's newspeak as George Orwell warned us in 1984:

What was Newspeak in 1984?

Newspeak: a purposefully ambiguous and confusing language with restricted grammar and limited vocabulary used in Oceania, according or Orwell, “to diminish the range of thought.” For example, in newspeak, the term plusgood had replaced words better and great.

The double/new speak for "An officer was shot by another officer" was the interesting part. It was a story about am ambush by two armed subject breaking out a prisoner escorted to the hospital for treatment.
