Never happened before; received 2 Mausers from the brown truck this afternoon. I sold a bolt MM byf43 K98k back to a friend who really wanted it, and found a package deal on these two K98s. They are slated to be two more loaners for my WW2 group. I now have 6 "beaters" to lend, and 1 nice one that stays in the safe. The first is the always popular S/42G, first year full production of the K98k, at Obendorf. Early import; it sits in a correct walnut flat butt plate bSw tiger stripe stock. Bolt is a Weimar Obendorf as well. Trigger guard, floor plate, and follower are Erma and match each other. The other is an "original" configuration RC 1936 S/42 Obendorf, EP-matched, flaking shellac, and blue/black refinished metal. Bolt is Nazi Erma, but get this, the stock is a correct walnut Weimar Obendorf 1935-1936. Bore on the G is a little rough and crusty, the '36 is OK. The box met the approval on one of my rabbits.
Added a couple of cleaning rods; the '36 has a Carcano rod that works well enough, and both sport Israeli K98 slings. Both passed the field gauge test and are almost ready to take the field next year.
