I'm curious about peoples' experience reloading 37mm launcher rounds.

Specifically chalk, smoke, or flare rounds.

Back several years my friends dad loaded 37mms flares to shoot out of his faux grenade launcher on his M16(giggle switch model) it used shotgun primers, black powder and he loaded little rubber bombs(that's what they looked like) and a fused insert which set of smoke and a small pop. Reminded me of a Roman candle.
IIRC the little kit was altec or something.

I have all kinds of stuff to reload 40mm, which depending on if you DDed your 37 it could be the same.
Anyway i had a bad few experiences reloading my first few 40mm rounds and kind have stayed clear of it.
Ive reloaded over 150k .223s with only 1 separated case head, and one negligent discharge from a high primer.....thats a pretty good success rate.

Im 0 for 2 with 40mm... they are thin ALUMINUM barrel, launching a 6-8 ounce projectile at 400fps...
Be careful... i will be revisiting reloading 37/40 soon, or at least once i complete reloading
.308.

I had one of the Havocs, and plan on getting another one. I reloaded the aluminum shells and only used dead weight rounds made from PVC and filled with sand. I used black powder and all shells were converted or designed for use with 12 guage shot shell primers. Range is hard to get down. Takes a while. I want to get the easter egg projectiles to use chalk with. overall it was a fun toy. When I buy another one, it will be the 12" havoc set up on the standalone system. The ones that mount to the ARs etc are neat but really are of very little use. May register mine as a DD and get the 37mm beehive rounds... that could be useful!
