Wilson Combat is again making magazines for Delta Elites. I wasn't able to find them on their web site, but I did order several after calling them up.

I've had one for a while and it has worked great -- better than my original Colt mags. This weekend I'll try out the three new mags that I just got.

Anyone use the tripp research Cobramag? They are pricey but seem to be
well built.

Speaking of wilson, one time I took my Delta to the range and forgot
to bring a mag with me for it. So I used a wilson 47D and loaded
10mm into it. Yes yes, I know its oh so wrong.

The funny part is, it worked perfectly. The only annoying thing was getting
the mag in and out of the gun, it seemed to fit quite snugly compared to
the normal mags.

I've recently tried out the CDNN Mecgar 10mm ones.... they seem to work
fine, as long as you dont have a picky slide stop. My original
stop didnt lock open on the last round with the mecars, but when I put
a new wilson ext. slide stop on it, it worked fine.

I have a relatively stock S&W 1911, so my answers are based on that and may not translate as well to a Delta.

- I purchased 5 of Virgil Tripp's CobraMags as part of a group buy on a rather exclusive eList of very serious 1911 shooters. There are a handful of other NES members here that I suspect got in on that same deal. Cost was quite reasonable, but there were a large quantity of mags involved in this deal.

- I really like them, the mfg quality is top notch, dealing with Virgil Tripp was likewise top notch, and they work flawlessly in my gun. [NOTE: There was an acknowledged quality issue on some of these mags, and Virgil took extra steps to make it right for those so affected.]

- My S&W 1911 came stock with 2 Wilson 47D mags. I don't think that the design is anywhere near as good as the Cobramags, but they work fine in my gun.

- I also bought 3 Wilson 10-rd mags for the 1911 and they work fine as well. I think that Howie scarfed up the remaining 10-rd mags that Jim Conway had.

- I use 3 of the Cobramags as my always-loaded CCW mags for my 1911.

As expected, the new Wilson mags worked great in my Delta Elite.

Sure would be nice to get an extra round in a flush-fitting magazine, though.
