Am I understanding correctly, that I may possess a handgun in Chicago if I have a NH P&R? Not carry - no - just possess.

As in - I ship a handgun to myself in Chicago, and leave it in my hotel room in a locked case, unloaded.

IMHO, their provisions for non-residents engaged in non-stop travel from one neighboring state to another across Illinois are actually much better than in most of the country, I feel safer driving across Illinois than I would crossing Massachusetts or New York.
