Carcano Extractor (loading problem)

While trying to load my Carcano, the extractor (from the picture) is not allowing the full round to enter the bolt. I tried spraying gun cleaner, wd40 then gun oil in and around, but no go. Is there an easy way to get this extractor out so I can clean it better?

have you tried needle nose pliers on the claw?
also try evapo-rust, you can get it at autozone... works great!!

I will pick up some Evapo tomorrow thanks.

As far as Needle Nose pliers, not yet. I am too afraid I will damage it. I am not sure what it will do. I will try tomorrow when I feel more brave.
