On my home computer, 65.96.57.112 all packets are dropped to this site.

If I spoof another IP on comcast network I can get in. This has been going on for about a week. I figured this out by using a proxy on Comcasts Network (within the fourth octet difference), and we also own a class C registered to Comcasts network that I use regularly at work.

I am going to perform a DHCP reset from a Comcast engineer tomorrow morning, but I find it totally strange that only this IP is being dropped.

here is the proof. I can't do a trace from the proxies.

Please advise why my Ip is restricted.....

Jim Conway called me Tuesday afternoon and told me that he suddenly couldn't access NES from his office (Charter cable). Jim tried multiple machines and multiple browsers with no luck (wasn't a problem prior to Tuesday). Of course his call came just after Comcast left my place and had reset/changed everything so that I couldn't get on the Internet either.

I think it is routing tables as well. It happened to me in Fitchburg when I had Comcast too. Getting them to actually address the routing table is a bit difficult.

Comcast Tech: "Is your computer plugged in?

Me: "If we are going to continue like this I'm haning up the phone."

Comcast Tech: "Sir I have to ask you these questions. Now lets reboot your PC"

well i got a few contacts at Comcast.... We can switch roles....

Me: "Is your cisco router plugged in?

Comcast Tech: "If we are going to continue like this I'm haning up the phone."

me: "Sir I have to ask you these questions. Now lets reboot your Cisco Router"

Yeah right :/

You guys can stop harassing the script reading tech at Comcast, the server banned the 65.96.57.112 IP address due to "massive" failed login attempts on 9/8.

I don't have any further details at this time. I went ahead and unblocked the IP address and will work on making the server's security system more forgiving.

OK, so I should have my buddy try again? He hasn't been able to log on at his house...and when I tried I couldn't either.

I'll have to ask if he's using Comcast.

ETA: Nope, he's using Verizon, not Comcast. Was there any other IPs being blocked?

And Jim Conway's problem with Charter?

I just sent Jim your cell number . . . expect to hear from him.
