I've been itching for a 1911 for a while now and I have a chance to pick up a Colt Combat commander on the cheap BUT its blued and I really want stainless...can refinishers put a hard chrome or nickel plating on this??

Most definatlly! Strip the blue and HC away!
LaRocca does nice work if you're close to Worcester.
