A Clovis police officer shot and wounded a 37-year-old man who was threatening his wife with a shotgun early Monday, police said.

Upon arriving, officers were met by the couple's daughter, who said her father was armed and intended to kill her mother.
Officers went through the home and found Hill and the woman in the backyard. Hill was armed with what turned out to be a loaded shotgun, which he was pointing at his wife. Hill then wheeled around and aimed the weapon at officers, Biaggi said.

Hill will be charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, domestic battery and being a felon in possession of a firearm, police said.
