A Gardena meat market owner Friday morning chased after, shot and killed a man who was attempting to rob him for the second time in two months, police said.
A bystander also was hit by gunfire outside Paisano's Market, but his injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
Gardena police Detective Rich Reynaga said the same robber allegedly hit Paisano's on July 20 and escaped with $2,300.
At about 6:30 a.m. Friday, he returned to the market in an industrial center at 1523 W. Rosecrans Ave. shortly after it opened for business. This time, the owner saw the man approach from a surveillance video feed to his office, Reynaga said.
