On March 22, 2011, at 9 am, deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station responded to the 22000 block of Gavilan Road, Lake Mathews, regarding a report of a burglary in progress. The 63-year-old victim arrived home and interrupted the burglary. The victim’s home had been ransacked.

The victim stated there were numerous weapons in the home and did not know if the suspect was armed. The victim armed himself with a shotgun for his own safety.....

The break-in happened a day after Zuniga was supposed to begin serving a six-month jail term for felony burglary, according to court records. He also was placed on three years probation in connection with the earlier crime.
