I was told some years ago that a modern C&R handgun brought into Mass. since 1998 to a C&R license may not be resold to a Mass. resident unless he also possesses a C&R FFL. A local dealer recently told me that is untrue.
Any comments?

That is untrue, as long as you are selling it FTF to another properly licensed LTC holder. You just have to do the FA-10 form as with any firearms transfer.

Also, remember the "4 per calendar year" limit for sellers who do not have a Massachusetts license to sell firearms.

Thanks for the responses.

And just to make sure I understand this correctly, a C&R holder may bring a non-compliant C&R handgun into the Bay State, and later sell it to a Mass. resident who not a C&R holder. Correct?

Anyone can bring one into the state when they move here. A C&R licensee gets the advantage of being able to purchase one from an out of state source without the need for a Massachusetts FFL holder.
