Burton snowboards, the company that essentially invented one of the most rapidly growing sports in the world, is closing it's Vermont manufacturing plant because taxes and the cost of providing it's employees with healthcare has made their business unsustainable. I hope Congress thinks about the consequences for small and medium sized businesses when it votes on this bill today.

Atlas is shrugging. This is the logically inevitable result of Progressive politics in action.

We get stories like this almost every month in Rhode Island: "Iconic, age-old family owned company is leaving the state due to regulations, labor costs, taxes..."

Will Americans learn? This year will be decisive.

Wow....that is really stunning. Never crossed my mind that they would ever close up there. Their reasons make sense, but I always think of other companies in other industries before I think of Burton.

That sucks.
