What makes people say this is Obama and not just BATFE being BATFE?
If they actually follow through and eliminate the CLEO "signoff", that eliminates half the need for people to go through trusts, and then adding in the extra checks eliminates most of the remainder.

Ok for you non NFA folks this has been in the works for a very long time. With the NFA market gaining popularity in leaps and bounds over the past 10+ years many have gone the trust route to get around liberal cops who refuse to sign a piece of paper. A person with a trust ( as I have had for over 20 years ) goes through the same check as one who does not sand submitting fingerprint cards, photo's and the cleo sign off. This will make MORE work for the ATF and add a month or two to wait times it will do nothing else...
Despite what Travis says, a person with a NFA Trust does not go through the same background check as an individual on a Form 4. Saying so is false.
And with the new eForms available to at least dealers, wait time should be cut significantly! NFATCA reported that a dealer to dealer transfer on a Form 3 took 9 DAYS!
