This is true and they have been doing this incrementally for decades. But they are sly about it. They wait until something happens and then they shove more "common sense" gun control down our throats. How many times can they use the term "common sense" before people start asking about the last "common sense" gun control bill.
The bigger problem is the deflection from the real issues and real problems. The problem is not guns or law abiding citizens with guns. It is the gangs and the drugs and it is that simple. Politicians are afraid of targeting them because they know drug dealers and gang members will retaliate. So because they fear retribution for any laws that would implement stricter penalties and enforcement of those types they pick on an easier target. They pick on those of us who choose to exercise our 2A rights.
The best part is that all these libtard and anti-gunners who use drugs (your potus as well) contribute to and are responsible for all the tragedies that have occurred with a firearm. Those who use support the illegal activity and those who refuse to make laws; real laws that could protect the public enable the dealers and gang members to roam free to do what it is they want to do.
At one point several years back I vaguely remember reading an article where the US spend $36 billion dollars a year fighting drug running. When was the last time you hear a law or a bill targeting stricter enforcement of illegal drug activity?
And yet everyone who uses drugs further enforces and strengthens these dealers. These are the people calling for gun control.

I agree, the politicians don't want to have to check their cars for bombs everyday and that is what they will get if they target gangs and drug lords, however the law-abiding people don't blow up other people.
So who will you go after, the guy who will obey the law or the guy who will put your happy ass in the ground?
