Air pistol shipped to CT?

I'm looking to buy a 10M air pistol online. Problem is you can't ship an air gun to CT. Emailed DPS and got crickets. It seems to me I could have it shipped to an FFL (even though no transfer is needed) because CT considers it a firearm. Anyone with any experience with this topic?

CT does not consider an air pistol (referred to as a BB gun in the statutes) to be a firearm.
Its considered a weapon, but not a firearm.

A "dangerous weapon" indeed. Got an answer from DPS they are legal to ship, some vendors won't due to varied CT town ordinances.
