Williams Gun Sight and Outfitters in Davison, Mich., said they learned their money’s no good with Comcast when the cable giant rejected their advertising because they no longer accept ads promoting firearms or fireworks.

But Comcast is the monopoly cable provider in two-thirds of the markets in the country, said John Kupiec, president of the advertising agency Canadian American Corp., so their policy now affects every cable channel and major network. And it affects major advertisers including Cabela’s and Walmart.

Not to worry, the federal reserve note won't be good anywhere in a few years.

An argument could be made that since Comcast is a government authorized monopoly, their restriction amount to government sponsored, content based speech restrictions in violation of the First Amendment.

in yo' faaaaayce, comcast. been using your service to buy guns, ammo, accessories, look at porn, whatever... for years. you, too verizon!!!

tl;dr: everyone can suck it.

Comcast isn't the worst ISP I've used as far as customer service goes but I am nervous that where I live, it's pretty much the only game in town, quite literally. There is nothing else available to me that has the speed that Comcast has (or has most of the time)...if FIOS was available I might consider that but knowing people that have FIOS, it isn't the "be all, end all" either.

I can't see where their no advertising re: firearms stance affects me, at least yet...maybe I'm missing something.

Although it doesn't stop them from airing of very violent, shoot 'em up movies and programs. So if they are going to ban firearms or fireworks commercials (except for Henry Rifles I've never seen a fireworks ad), ban the gun and killey shows as well.

I wish I could get FIOS again... I had it in MA, but found out they're not in NH. Best you can do is Freepoint's fiber service. I have them and DirecTV right now. No need for a phone plan, since I have a VoIP solution already (had it for years). I just wish I could get better than 30 over 15 for speeds.

I've had RCN and concast before... Both sucked compared with what I had from FIOS... I'm doing everything possible to avoid concast again.

It's a principal thing. I no longer go to AMC movie theaters because they are owned by the chinese. I do not watch movies with 'stars' who are outwardly anti-gun. I no longer shop at Dicks because they pulled all AR style rifles after Sandy Hook. I vote with my money.

This is very disturbing, to say the least. I managed and have owenrship stake in many commercial properties. A few years ago I allowed Comcast to install service to our buildings (at no cost to us) through a license agreement that lets them provide services to tenants. I am drafting a letter to them giving them 30 days to abandon this policy or I will cancel the Agreement. THe tyrants are among us in every corner of the country. THey are perverse in our government and especially our larger PC, crony capitalist Corporations. THey are the Fifth Column and the enemy of liberty and individual rights. THey are enabled by the weak minded through thier blind support of the leftist power structure. THe enemy lives next to us, works with us, for us and freeloads off our taxdollars so they don't have to work. THe enemy is the poorly evolved minds of human beings that roam this earth. Minds that are destined to repeat history as those who enabled thier captors.
