My father and uncle are WW2 vets, along with several of their friends that I also know. And of course, Mom (my step-mother) is also a WW2 Vet. She was a "Coastie", IIRC. After she trained Navy Pilots to fly airplanes (as a civilian, no less). Yup, she was a pilot in the late 30's or early 40's.
