The side cocker handle is nice, I just picked up one from A guy on Uzi talk called M60 Joe. It is also great if you put a scope on it, M60 Joe also makes a scope mont for the uzi top cover, but you have to send in a top cover. You will have to spend so real time on Uzi talk.
But be warned you will spen lots of cash. The Lula is a must, and so are mags try to stick to the IMI or IMI contract mags, the US mags are no good.
Here is a good Light/Lazer mount http://www.tdi-arms.com/store.php?region=usa&pid=230

Feel free to E-mail/ PM with any Uzi questions. I think the B is a better choice, the Sights are much better, and much easier to adjust, and it also has a firing pin safety on the bottom rear of the bolt for extra safety.

pics

finally got a chance to take some pics of the uzi

GaryZ, please, for the love of God, use the advanced edit function on your first post to change the title of this thread from "9 mm carbide" to "9mm Carbine". It's driving me nuts. Oh yeah, nice work on the Uzi.

Gary, if you're not going to SBR it, there's a guy making fake cans for the Uzi 16" barrel...They look awesome. Lightyears ahead of commercial copies. They replace the barrel nut and look so real it's amazing....

got the barrel shroud today, it's about 3-4" short
so i have to return it. i have a 18" barrel, i'm guessing w/o measuring
the shroud is about 14-16" so that sucked a lot.
kept hoping ups would show up, they did, and now i have to return it

massmark, the guy making the fake cans, is he on the uzi forum?
$80.00 is a little steep for me, plus i'm looking for the ventilated type
i ordered a spare barrel nut from vector, i'm going to try to make
one from pvc pipe, have a pretting good idea, just need the nut to try

Short? I'm 99% sure unless you got a Michigan gun, (I think it's Michigan), that your barrel should be 16". I haven't seen too many Uzi's other than Mini's with an 18" barrel....Yes, the fake cans are on UziTalk. I thought so too, until I saw one...They are schweet - he even has a 2-stage in the works. I'm awaiting SBR stamp, but may pick one up anyway one day....

massmark, i just measured my barrel, from the flange (lack of better word) where the barrel sits on the receiver to the muzzel end is 10.5"
i do have the 18" barrel, thats what they measured @ zero when i bought it
so i'm sol unless i can make my own shroud
or locate a 16" barrel for short money, but i think i'll stay w/ the 18

FYI
If anyone is still looking for an UZI, Four Seasons just listed a Vector UZI in the used gun section for $699.95. Its not mine but I thought someone here might like to know about it.

16" is the standard barrel - you'll have issues finding shrouds, unless you find a Mini Uzi shroud...I can't for the life of figure out why you have an 18", unless your Uzi started it's life in a state that does not allow barrels under 18". You can find 16" barrels for pretty short dough...I've seen them on the boards for as little as 25-bucks....
