I just bought a bunch of American Eagle .223 ammo and thought I'd pick up a box of Winchester 5.56 just to see what the differences were. I thought the 5.56 might be a hotter load. Anyway I was comparing the rounds and the 5.56 rounds look like they might be reloads (not that I'd know for sure). The neck near the bullets are discolored (brownish) and the brass has some dings in it. Is this typical? I bought these at a reputable local shop but I'm a little concerned. The American Eagles are all clean and the brass is perfect.
