I am getting ready to reload my 1k free bullets from Hornady and have already tested loads from 4.6g to the powder manufacturers 5g. I have only been shooting 230 LRN and 185g SWC. The 230g JHP rounds were seemingly harder in recoil (as one would expect) and all of the cases looked fine as far as I could tell, and at this time my manuals have no data for Red Dot for this load. My concern is that by going only by Alliant data, I am not getting all info possible to be satisfied with load. Scrivener had posted about a mixup for a load that he used and I was wondering if perhaps this could be the case here. Alliant calls for 4g of Red Dot for 230g LRN and Speer #14 calls for 5g for same bullet. Can someone kindly give me some guidance on this one. Thanks. -John L.

Just to clarify, I was only using LRN info for comparison. I will never substitute data.
