Hello everyone. A while back I gathered what information I could about dating ammo boxes. I decided to stick with Winchester Western for right now. Although the date code information was for all calibers, I compiled a data sheet specifically for the 44-40.
For those that think they will enjoy the information, it is located at the link below. The data sheet is always being updated although information as slowed considerably. I can't afford to purchas every box I come across just to get the code...especially now with all the hysteria and the highly inflated prices.
If you have an old box laying around, feel free to share the code located on the inside of one of the flaps. All of this information is included in the data sheet and is not limited to just the date codes. Surf the tabs at the bottom of the sheet.
