40/45 ?

Has anyone ever heard of this cartridge? The reason I ask is I finally went to load some 45/70 with Lee (no comments) dies. Now the expander die was not flaring the mouths at all and it was set according to the directions. When I looked at the die I noticed it was marked 40/45. I have never heard of this cartridge before and am wondering if the wrong die was put in the set. Lee's web site wasn't much help. I did e-mail them, but from past experience with them it may be a while before I get a response.

I have heard of a few wildcat cartridges that were .45ACP shells necked down to take a .40 caliber bullet. This may be a possibility.

That's the .400 Corbon, but it uses just a regular .40/10mm expander die.

Finally got a reply from Lee, the die is correctly marked and is for the 45/70. How silly of me to think a die marked 40/45 was for the 45/70.There must be some secret Lee lingo at work here.
