I have an vintage M1 carbine with a bunch of early 15rd mags; the rifle is WWII.

If I want to get some 30rd mags, do they have to be preban also, or can I buy new manufacture, and utilize them because it's a preban rifle?

Who the hell can tell the difference anyway? Is there a manufacture date on the M1 mags?

How about on the AR15 mags? is there a date or identifying marks?

Thanks
Joe

Yes any large capacity magazines have to be pre-ban regardless of the age of the rifle. No, sometimes you cannot tell the difference. Sorry to do this to ya, but [horse]

There are a bunch of ways to tell whether mags are genuine USGI or if they are fakes, whether they are new manufacture or preban. I suggest you research this.
