.308 loads

What do you use for you 308 loads. I just got a bolt action in 308 and am going to start loading for it.

I am going to start my first batch using:

150 GR btsp 44-47 gr of varget.

But after reading this thread

I wanted to know what other powders people use for thier bolt guns.

38gr of Benchmark over a 168gr SMK does it for me....

I use winchester 748 and a magnum primer.

I've had good results with IMR 4064 and IMR 3031.

You can also look at Hodgdon BL-C(2). I believe that this is the commercial equivalent of what is used for military 7.62 loadings.

That depends on what you want to do with the rifle.

Hunt, paper punch etc?

I've been having good luck with Varget and IMR 4064 under a 150 gr GameKing.

Going to try 165 SST next. Their suppose to be the Cat's Ass.
