OK, cleaning and oiling are done. There was really very little to do. Barrel came out brighter and sharper than before; very good plus, near excellent. Add one more matching part, the sear; trigger has matching proofs, but not serial. I have seen another BSW trigger/sear group in which only the sear was numbered. Turns out the front sight was grooved, so the rifle was German rearsenaled after 1941. Now I need a sight hood, and of course, I sold off my spare one not thinking I would need it as my next rifle was going to be pre-war. All came apart and went back together without a fuss. Stock got three coats of cut Tung oil, and both sides of the sling and keeper were saddle soaped.

Barrel code is 38R37. All receiver proofs are WaA4.

So first I first need a sight hood, second a marked rear trigger screw, third a marked band spring.

Lots of pics; enjoy.[smile]

All I did was rub two coats of 50/50 Tung oil/mineral spirits, and one coat 3:1. There were white bits in the stock near the cartouches, so a little rubbing with a scotch brite pad and straight mineral spirits took care of most of it.
