M1907 Dreyse rig for $282 on auction. SN dates to about 1911. 1944 WaA/dated holster, all matching pistol. Imperial acceptance proof to right of ejection port. Replacement grips needed fitting. More comments later; I have to run out the door right now.

More:

Holster is marked EZGJ1944, which on my WaA721 listing is a CZ27 holster from 1943. The holster does have a little wadding of what looks like wax paper to compensate for a shorter barrel. Original right grip was missing the top, so I fitted a replacement set. The replacements have a duller finish and are about 10% bigger which meant I had to cut back and blend the left grip to the safety could clear in its 180 degree travel. The grips are centered around two 1/2cm beveled round protrusions that sit in cuts in the frame. both sides needed reliefs cut for the circles to sit properly. The right side screw relief also sat too low and the screw caught the magazine; I had to shim it with a little piece of the coarse sandpaper I was using. Pistol cycles and ejects properly. Pistol has no unit or other marks save the Imperial acceptance.

Excellent bore. There looks to be a number over the EXGJ; maybe 011250796...a GI serial number?

Nice looking Dreyse 32, mine is in a lot rougher shape. I like the holster as well. Now you need the 1908 Dreyse. :)

Range report. Brilliant sun, windy, 24 degrees. 36 feet, 49 rounds of Prvi. A couple of FTF and weirdly, fail to cock. I assume from the cold and that I haven't cleaned the inside yet.

Cleaned up inside and out. Turns out the SN is 136K, not 156K, as it is more clearly marked inside. Still c. 1910-1911 production. If any of you have one of these, depressing the barrel cover to remove the slide can be a bitch without stabbing yourself with a screwdriver. By accident I discovered a .45 cal case is the perfect diameter to slide over the barrel and still catch the retainer. As a bonus, since the case is brass, it won't scuff the barrel, retainer, or slide. No more pushing with a screwdriver. After shooting the case across the desk a couple of times, I drilled a 1/2 inch by 1/8 inch hole in the side of my work desk to hold the case in place; worked beautifully.
