14 year old killed by police had pellet gun

So are you saying the dead kid deserves a second chance? Ever buy a nickel bag of pot in front of a 2 story wall of glass with the main staircase overlooking a massive open courtyard in your freshman year of HS with 2 teachers watching on the second to the last day of school?
I did. 😂

We all did stupid shit. Never stupid enough to point a gun at a cop or other person.

Deserves got nothing to do with it.

I'm sure the parents who were awol or the 18 year olds who took him shoplifting will blame the cops instead of themselves.

Who cares? Weed is legal in CO, guns are a protected right and if he wants to post thug photos of himself with a BB gun that's his business. Let's get rid of these freaking trigger happy assassins, I mean police, in this country.
If that kid tried to mug you and you shot and killed him as he pointed that real looking gun at you, would that make you a trigger happy assassin?

Another young Black kid shot by police for displaying a “toy” gun. The family and their lawyer are looking for “justice” and “accountability” everywhere but where the problem lies.

”Police in Akron, Ohio, released video of an officer shooting a 15-year-old boy who was holding what his family says was a toy gun, video that shows the teenager was struck seconds after the officer ordered him to put his hands up last week...

Shortly after 7 p.m. on April 1, a woman called police claiming she had seen a Black male “pull out a gun” and start pointing it at houses in the area of Tonawanda Avenue and Newton Street, Akron police said in a news release the same day.

“The Koonce and Williams family are heartbroken and seek justice and accountability for lack of humanity that was shown to Tavion,” Okolo [their lawyer] said in a statement Monday.

“Tavion now finds himself in the lineage of Black youth being profiled and shot by the Akron Police Department with absolutely no justification or regard for human life,” he said.”

There was another story on this, with a woman who saw the kid gave an incredible accurate description of this kid to the dispatcher, which was relayed to all responding units. He wasn't singled out because he was black, he was singled out because he was the guy in the description.

Cop was probably going for a body shot......kid was lucky

Score another one for precrime!

"Westlake then reaches toward his department-issued weapon and points it at Tavion, and a shot is fired seconds later.

At the same time, Westlake exclaims “Oh s---!” upon hearing the discharge — still at 7:11 p.m.

“Shots fired! Shots fired!” Westlake says as he gets out of the vehicle. Tavion screams, “It’s fake! It’s fake!” with his hands raised.""

Over 4k comments, many about “gone are the days kids could play cops & robbers” with toy guns. It seems the kid was carrying a replica pistol as his cousin had just been shot dead. Maybe the kid feared some related vendetta against him?

For a replica gun to be “useful” in the hood, I guess you have to be known to be carry a gun, so keeping it concealed was probably not in the kid’s interests. It’s hard to expect a 15yr-old kid to know what to do - be seen with a gun by other hood-rats but not other neighborhood adults. The cops are faultless.

It’s a no-win for everyone, but some slimeball layer is trying to cash in on it. How does his grandmother get interviewed? Maybe Mom is a junkie and Dad is in jail.
