I'm having a hard time finding data for 9mm reloads using xtreme plated 115 gr bullets and hp38 powder. I've read keep it around or just under 5 gr and it will be fine. Is anyone using these to give a safe reference point?
COL says 1.100 I'm at 1.150 fits good in my G34 barrel and dillon case gauge. Any input or suggestions from someone who has tried these? Thanks.

I use 115 gr xtreme bullets mainly with titegroup but made up some loads recently with hp38/231.

For 231 I used 4.3 gr @ 1.130" OAL.

Titegroup I use 4 gr @ 1.130". I try to use a longer than suggested OAL just help with pressures etc. As long as they cycle fine in your guns, you should be good to go.

The closest I can find is lead bullet data. 3.8 to 4.2 grains. I also use Titegroup with plated bullets. Call X-treme. They'll tell you.

...these are my exact loads but for 124 grain Xtreme's.

I brewed up 20 boxes of X-Treme 124gr PRN for my neighbor. 5.2gr of W452AA @ 1.150" They seem to run just fine in his Taurus PT92, 938 and Shield.

FWIW, I've loaded the NEI LTC bullet in 9x19mm for those that want a heavyweight (just buy a .40 IMO). This bullet weighs in at 162 grains. Blems on left are 158gr, 162gr on right:

They function, but I wouldn't recommend a steady diet of non-spec bullets, just get a bigger caliber firearm.

I switched to 124gr this year. I like the recoil better out of my G34, which sees the most action.

I load 115 and 124 to 1.125-1.130, runs fine in all of my 9mm Glocks and my 9mm AR. I load my 147gr subsonics to 1.160

Did the POI change significantly after switching from 115 to 124?

I use 115g Xtremes with 4.3g titegroup and 1.15 COAL - 1120 FPS out of a 5", 1070FPS from a 3"

When i use HP-38 i use 4.6g. I haven't chronographed HP-38 but there is no discernible difference in felt recoil between the two charges.

I shot 200 of these loads yesterday from my G34 and G19 , no problems at all. Almost no recoil and good accuracy, thanks again.

Update -- I found another 200rd of 115gr's I made with Titegroup. I shot those 200 back to back with 200 124gr TG loads on Sunday, all out of the G34.

The POI of the 115s tended to be about 0.5-1" higher at 7yd than the 124gr. Might have been me, might have been the wind, might have been the round. It was 3deg with the wind chill (25mph gusts), but given that I fired so many rounds, I think a trend does exist.

I just picked up some 124gr xtremes and 1# of titegroup. I'm really liking reloading.

Yeah it gets insanely addicting and fun lol. Last weekend the fiancé was busy and I cranked out 1k 9mm rounds using Titegroup. TG goes a long way too which is nice.

My 34 loves 115 plated with 4.8gr titegroup 1.130. So I'm pushing them pretty hard with excellent results.

I have a small batch of 4.9gr and 5.0gr loaded just to test If I'm getting close to a pressure sign.

My 34 doesn't like 124s or 147s regardless of charge, the groups just aren't as tight.

Interesting, thank you for your input. I'm new to alot of this. I picked up 250 plated 124s to try out. If the damn snow ever melts and we get an IDPA match in I'll try my G34 there

Do me a favor and work up to that from around 4.2gr. You might not see grouping improve so high on your gun. Lots of people out there running just past the "It cycles" barrier on G34s and getting good results. I'm not reloading for IDPA, I'm going for "as hot as possible". It just so happens my 34 really likes it.

I have a friend using 124s in his with great results, so don't totally discount them. My gun just groups super tight with the 115s.

Standing two handed 7yds 18 rounds (17+1):

My carry loads are 5.1gr TG under a 115gr in an unsupported chamber, very slight bulging starting to form near the head of the case.

I've seen unsupported chambers shooting factory rounds in .40 deform significantly worse.

I will only shoot them twice at that charge just to be safe. 1230-1240 FPS out of a 3" barrel.

See, that's why I loaded those two higher batches to check. I don't want to really pound on my brass that much. If I see bulging at 5.0gr I'll retreat back to my standard 4.8g load and call it good. If I don't see bulging I'll probably nudge it up to 4.9gr avg on my press knowing I'll see 5.0gr occasionally just in powder throw variation.

I think in a fully supported chamber the brass would take it for a long time. Mine is probably more of an exception, but of course, necessary disclaimer, this is an overpressure load so work up to it safely.

I load my 115gn RN Berry's Plated w/ 4.5gns of W231 (same as HP38). I use a C.O.L. of 1.118"-1.128".

I've literally shot thousands of this load, and it's real accurate in my LC9 and G19. I've shot it out to ~ 50yds, nothing really beyond.

5.0 grains of TG is pretty ballsy considering it's reputation for spiking fast. Thanks for the data.
