When returning a firearm to a dealer what to I check off for reporting?

Personal transfer?

Sale (since I'll be getting money back in return)?

What if I'm exchanging it for another firearm?

Nothing. You don't report transfers to a dealer on FA-10 forms.

I would ask for a receipt to show what you did with it. If only to keep your records straight and accurate.

Agreed.

I would absolutely keep a paper trail for my own records to make sure I could prove that I no longer owned the gun in case the gun was ever involved in an incident 'down the line' and anyone tried to link it back to me since I was the last 'registered owner'.
