An Ex-Cossack, of course! IIRC, the last one that was seen topped the $2G-note on GBroker... [shocked] [shocked]

The Model 1891 Cossack Mosin Nagant is one of those specimens that surface from time to time - like almost never. Though identical to the Izhevsk Dragoon in construction, it is set apart by a simple "KA3." stamp on the barrel shank. Not every Mosin Nagant enthusiast will find one, either. I am still looking.

But what I won't need to look for, anymore, is a Cossack that has been upgraded to M91/30 specs. Not really remarkable in features, as the M91/30 the most common model of Mosin Nagants. But I would guess that the Ex-Cossack is about the least common variant, with maybe a handful or two known.

Dated 1920, and built on a 1900 Sestroryetsk receiver, it sits in a war-time stock with a wrist crossbolt, arrived with a neat Naval Sling, and its Imperial Eagle is overstamped with the Izhevsk crest. It sports the classic flaking shellac and thick black paint look, and an unusual (for a Cossack) issued bayonet. Gorgeous force-match serial stamping. Dandy!

Enjoy the pics, and thanks for looking.
