I have been searching for a long, long time for this coat and I cant seem to find it anywhere. I really dont even know what brand or make it is. All I know is that it is a wool lined, reversable, khaki bomber/tanker style coat that was worn on "The A-Team" by Hannibal back in 83 and 84. I have checked all kinds of vintage, military web sites for this coat and I still cant find this model.
Does anyone happen to know what coat this is and or what it is called? I LOVE the style of this coat and would like to buy one used or new (either or) but I really dont know where to look other than where I have.
thanks for the help in advance. My wife is sick of me asking family and stuff so I figured I would run it by you guys seeing as its a Military style coat I think... [smile][smile]

Military style, but I don't think it's actually military. It looks to me like a cotton/canvas interpretation of the Navy G-1 flight jacket (which was of course originally leather), but it's obviously not an exact duplicate. With a bit of googling, you might find a cotton version of the G-1 that'll be close.

Rob,

They have a huge wardrobe department at film and TV production studios. As Ken says, it was very likely done custom for the show.

However, you could try these folks: www.cloakmaker.com. Dina does custom costumes - everything from medieval to Star Wars (her husband has a truly cool set of Jedi robes!) and if you can provide pictures of the jacket to her, she can probably make it for you.

You can tell her I sent you her way - it won't make a difference in the price, but it'll probably get me an extra hug next time I see her. [wink]

thanks so much for all your help guys.

I appreciate it. I think unless I find it real quick and judging by whats out there I dont think its going to happen, I will most likely have it custom made.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ouch!!!!! [sad2][sad2]

my wife will love that.... [rofl]

Is this to compliment your stainless mini-14?

When I was a kid, I wanted to dress like my favorite TV characters also, but that was when I was a kid.

Its a St. Johns Bay safari jacket and its Identical in every aspect to Hannibal's

but no results googling 'St. Johns Bay Safari Jacket"

good luck! You must post a self portrait in the coat if you get it!

I already poster over there and no luck. I also spoke with Stephen J Cannell the guy who wrote the A-Team and he did not remember the coats history. Nothing seems to be working on this one.
I may have it custom made. I already found someone who can do it its just going to cost some dough.....

I have to get a flight jacket like Murdocks. (I go by that on some other shooting boards where Wildweasel is allready taken. ) always my favorite on the show. My dads was Hannabel of course. We actally knew his nephew for awhile, but we lost touch after he moved after his uncle died. (he inherited most of the estate.) His name? George Peppard.
