VFW Magazine Series: "Shoulder Arms of America's Wars"

Since last fall, the VFW Magazine has been running an 11-part series dedicated to all the firearms featured in America's wars, from the Revolution to Afghanistan. Right now the series is about halfway through, so I thought I'd post article links in a thread, particularly as the magazine begins to publish on the firearms many of us actually own.

The articles seem to have very little new information regarding operation and the innerworkings of the firearm, particularly for even a mildly-educated milsurp enthusiast. But what I find great are the combat anecdotes in the articles. I'll continue to update the OP as the new articles come out.
