Winchester Ammunition Sponsors USPSA National Handgun Championships

Sedro-Woolley, WA — Renowned ammunition maker Winchester has signed on as a Silver Sponsor for the 2008 Smith & Wesson Limited, Production and Revolver USPSA Championships as well as the USPSA Open and Limited-10 National Championships. Both matches will be held back to back in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the U.S Shooting Academy September 7-13, 2008.

“USPSA competitors rely on both Winchester ammunition and reloading components to stay competitive in the sport of Practical Shooting. We’re proud to have such a recognized leader in the shooting sports teaming up with USPSA for our National Handgun Championships,” said Dave Thomas, Executive Director of USPSA. .”

More than 625 of the nation’s top handgun shooters, as well as several from outside the United States, are expected to compete in the championships where they will negotiate their way through stages on two field courses on their way to putting more than 280,000 rounds down range. The Handgun National Championships are the highlight of the practical shooting season in the United States, and in 2008, a preliminary for the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) World Championships at the end of October in Bali, Indonesia.
