Glock’s Sevigny Setting Shooting World On Fire

Sedro-Woolley, WA — For the fourth time Dave Sevigny of Smyrna, Georgia has captured the Production title at the United States Practical Shooting Association’s Area 7 Regional Shooting Championships. Sevigny, who is the defending national champion in the Production Division, has already taken titles at the Area 8 Championships and the Area 6 Championships where he won the Limited-10 title.

Sevigny led the match from the start winning nine of the 10 stages and outpacing his nearest competitor by just over 265 match points. Sevigny, besides being one the nation’s top pistol shooters, is the captain of the professional shooting team for Smyrna-based firearms maker Glock. He won the match shooting a Glock model 34 in 9mm.

“It‘s always an uphill battle when you face off against Dave Sevigny. His shooting skill coupled with his natural athletic ability make Dave a force to be reckoned with on the range, but his gentlemanly demeanor and professionalism make him a much sought after squad partner,” said Rob Boudrie, USPSA’s Area 7 Director.

John Kruszka of Woodbridge, New Jersey finished second with Milford Lovett Jr. of Parish, New York and Mark Redl of Poughkeepsie, New York close behind in third and fourth. Nicholas Woodring of Edgewater, New Jersey rounded out the top five.

The USPSA Area 7 Championships were held at the Harvard Sportsmen’s Club in Harvard, Massachusetts June 6-8. A total of 188 top pistol shooters competed in USPSA’s Open, Limited, Limited-10, Production, Revolver and Single Stack divisions. The USPSA Area 7 region includes Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont but shooters from Georgia, Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania as well as Canada and Jamaica attended.
