Dave Sevigny Captures Another Production Title At TechWear Area 8 Championships

Sedro-Woolley, WA — Dave Sevigny of Smyrna, Georgia took the Production title at the TechWear USA Area 8 Practical Shooting Championships held over the Memorial Day weekend. It is the fifth time Sevigny has won the match which drew over 300 top shooters from around the country.

Sevigny, who serves as the captain of the professional shooting team for Smyrna-based firearms maker Glock, dominated the match winning six of the 11 stages and led the field of top shooters from the second stage on. Robert Vogel, who won the title in 2006, finished second winning three stages. Mike Hughes finished third winning the only stage not taken by Sevigny or Vogel. Kyle Farris and Greg Jordan rounded out the top five finishing fourth and fifth respectively.

“Dave continues to rack up wins. In April he won the Area 6 Production title and with his strong performance at this year’s match, Dave has secured an amazing fifth Area 8 title. I think we can expect Dave to pick up a few more wins on his way to this year’s USPSA National Championships,” said Alan Meek, USPSA’s Area 8 Director.

The USPSA Area 8 Championships were held at the East Huntingdon Sportsmen’s Association range in Alverton, Pennsylvania May 22-25. A total of 312 top shooters competed in USPSA’s Open, Limited, Limited-10, Production, Revolver and Single Stack divisions. The USPSA Area 8 region includes Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia but shooters from across the Nation and around the world are invited to compete.
