The purpose of the certification program is to teach potential instructors how to be the best in the business. They will learn how to improve their teaching and presentation skills to provide a high-quality class to best serve the needs of their students and their communities while upholding a strict code of ethics.

The goal of the United States Concealed Carry Association Education & Training Department Instructor Certification Program is to enable our instructors to effectively teach the responsible, safe, and effective use of self-defense firearms in accordance with state and federal law.

The United States Concealed Carry Association Instructor Certification Program trains and certifies instructors in the discipline of carrying defensive firearms. Our instructors receive quality training and support and must demonstrate their competence and ability to teach others in a classroom environment. The course is 24 hours of training.

Upon graduating from the USCCA Instructor Training Course, participants will be able to:
• Understand and teach state law regarding the act of carrying a gun for self-defense
• Assess the competence and qualifications of students to legally and responsibly carry a firearm
• Understand and communicate legal preclusions and disqualifying factors for students
• Ensure their students clearly understand the consequences of using a firearm in self defense
• Understand best practices for effective teaching methodology

Potential USCCA instructors must have a demonstrated proficiency with firearms. Documentation of proficiency may consist of NRA training, military service as an instructor, or other documented and appropriate experience.
  1. All USCCA instructors must attend and pass a 24 hour USCCA instructor certification course which includes instruction on record keeping, range operations, and teaching methodologies.
  2. The USCCA instructor certification course is designed to meet and exceed comparable curriculum covering basic pistol operation, personal protection procedures and state self-defense & firearms law.

The total cost of the course is $597.00. ($250.00 and $347.00) An Affiliated Instructor who already has the Tool Kit, pays $147.00 for the on-line training versus the $250.00.

($250.00) This cost involves the candidate contacting the USCCA Instructor Support (877-677-1919) to enroll in an online e-learning (8 hour) course and receiving the Instructor Toolkit. The cost of the e-learning and tool kit is $250.00. Candidates need to notify member services they will be attending a certification course with a Training Counselor to ensure the package price of $250.

If you purchase online or call in and do not mention you taking a class with a Training Counselor you will be charged $277 for the Toolkit and $397 for eLearning. Call USCCA Instructor Support (877-677-1919) and state you are attending a certification course.

($347.00) Is the cost of the two day class with a Training Counselor.

Online training must be purchased thirty days prior to the course and completed 14 days prior to class. If enrolling you must notify Course TC prior to enrolling and again upon completion of online training, TC needs to submit a class roster 14 days prior to course to receive student materials. Contact me if you enroll in the on-line training and again upon completion of the training.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you,

Barry Mills
