Britons will be urged to stockpile tinned food, batteries and bottled water under a new campaign launched by the UK government to encourage the public to prepare for emergencies.Oliver Dowden, deputy prime minister, will on Wednesday unveil a new website designed to help households mitigate potential harm from an array of risks, ranging from flooding and power outages to biosecurity crises such as another pandemic....

So, people are not "crazy preppers" when gov.org says to prep, but when they do it on their own they're considered insane? Got it!!
Anyone with half a brain doesn't need government's advice or direction, especially at the "eleventh hour".

"When the drums beat for war, it's too late to train the troops."

How does anybody survive a Northern New England winter without having at least that much food, water, and fuel on hand?
" stockpile three days' worth of tinned food, water and batteries."
Here's the official UK website:
US FedGov's FEMA has been giving Americans the same "3 days" message since before many here were born. Generally it is the city dwellers who are least ready for a sudden inability to pop down to the packie or just order from doordash, with limited space there's just no room for 10L of water per person per day...

If they don't "make" space, then shame on them.

There's always space to store what is needed to survive, even if you're living in a refrigerator box or a tent in the median of a highway.
The real problem is, people live under such a delusional "normalcy bias" in their daily lives that they can't possibly set their priorities straight.....and for that, they deserve all the deprivation that comes along with their willful ignorance.
