Took three pistols to the range today to try out self defense rounds versus FMJ-RN. All distances 30 feet with 42 degrees and windy.
1918 M08 Colt in .25acp. Started with Hornady SD rounds. First round 12:00 and very high. The original magazine handled the SD loads. The reproduction magazines handled the Remington RN, but the one SD round failed to chamber.
The 1/1943 Mauser HSc was sweet to shoot. It did not like the SD loads; several stove pipes and failures to feeds. Ate up the PPU and Fiochhi brass cased RN ammo with no issue.
The 1915 M08 Colt in .380 had a FTF on the second SD round, then worked fine. Those seven shots were high right. The pistol ate up the Blazer Brass RN ammo with no issue. Big kick with a light frame.
