I was just blindsided by the loss of a good dude. He took his own life, leaving a lot of us wondering what the hell happened. I know we all sit through the mandatory training and watch the videos; but please, keep your guys close. It might just be the simplest thing gets someone through the day. As uncomfortable as it is to bring up, our brothers and sisters are worth way more than avoiding an uncomfortable moment.

The help lines are there: http://www.veteranscrisisline.net/, http://www.militaryonesource.mil/crisis-prevention, http://stopsoldiersuicide.org/.

First, I am very sorry for your loss. Which is our loss. 22 veterans take their own life each day. It is awful. Since 2004, military suicide rates have outpaced have civilians. Something is going on and it's not good.

If anyone reading this ever wants someone to listen to them, PM me. Not a vet, but I can listen.
