T53 cleaning last night; rust pitting on barrel, should I be concerned?

I tore my t53 down completely last night, finally said "screw it, I can rebuild or replace the stock" and worked the retaining straps off. Turns out they were fine and I didn't damage anything...but I found two patches of rust pitting the size of quarters under the top handguard, and the pitting is a lot deeper than I like; should I be concerned? The pitting is 1/16" deep in places, if not deeper...

So I guess the question is: how deep is too deep? (insert obvious joke here)

I'll try to get my laptop at home working again tonight to upload pictures. I'm bringing it to the pumpkin shoot regardless, so if someone there wants to take a look, it'll be available.

But it sounds fine. And seriously? Keep the stock, it's a T53. Dirty filthy flamethrower.

Sounds fine to me one of mine has some pretty deep pitting and it shoots fine
