Sig p229 EGW dovetail optic mount

Has anyone heard good or bad about EGW Sight Mount in the dovetail on Sig p229, I seen a thread where gentlemen had on a Glock and it was too high for him. Sig has two options the Pro cut Slide assembly optic ready for $399 and RX Slide Assembly mounted ROMEO1PRO for $599, that’s nearly new gun price. I haven’t had any luck finding a factory slide that I could have cut. I came across this set-up EGW set up with a Vortex Viper or Venom for about $300,any thoughts would be appreciated
