I have a couple of boxes of South African 7.62, and I am wondering if I can shoot that out of my Remington 700P LTR .308 without a problem. I understand the accuracy will suffer, but will it damage the rifle? I mean, they are probably hotter rounds, right?

I'm basically wondering this because my Federal Match King .308 HPBT rounds are accurate but don't do a lot of damage to hard objects, so I thought about using the SA rounds if I want to demolish some bricks or cinder blocks or other amusing items.

I've been using the South African in my PSS for quite a while now, and it shoots very, very well.

The danger from shooting the wrong ammo is shooting .308 Winchester in a 7.62 chambered rifle. The Remington can take the milsurp no problem.

But its at your own risk of course.
