I took a Russian friend of mine shooting the other night. When I asked if he had shot before he said "twice, three rounds each time".

Turns out both times were during his manditory one year service in the Russian military after earning his engineering degree. He had to "qualify" as able to shoot his AK.

Each time he was issued 3 rounds. 2 to practice with. 1 to qualify with. Guess they were spending all thier money on subs and nukes!!

matt

PS - He had opportunity that night to shoot everything from .22 to 10mm Glock. At ~25ft he was putting most (as in all but a few) of his shots inside the 7 ring... guess the Russians knew how to make those 6 rounds count!!
