An armed robbery suspect was killed during a gun battle with an employee at a store this week in Seattle, Washington, according to reports.
The shocking incident unfolded at around 4 p.m. on Monday in the Ballard neighborhood of the Emerald City.
Seattle Police Department (SPD) officers were called to a shooting at King Smoke Shop, where they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
“It appears the 29-year-old male suspect attempted to rob the business by gunpoint and shot at the 38-year-old male employee victim. The victim fired back at the suspect who left the store after the shots were fired,” SPD explained in a statement.
“The victim had non-life-threatening gunshot wound injuries and the suspect sustained life-threatening gunshot wound injuries.”
The employee was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.
The suspect succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
